One of the more common concerns that people present with are Shoulder Injuries.
Mr X presented at the start of November 2017 with shoulder injuries and loss of range of motion in both shoulders. The initial damage occurred to the left shoulder approximately 18 months ago at home whilst pulling the garage door down – a simple enough task done a thousand times before. This particular time he severely pulled the tendons to the Deltoid muscle. He had been having physiotherapy for the last 9-10 months which had definitely helped but didn’t seem to be making any progress past a certain level. It appears also that the exercises given to Mr X also contributed to the right shoulder injury and a loss of function.
The following photos are before shots of Mr X’s range of motion before the session…
Using the specialised muscle manipulation techniques not just to the Deltoids but also the surrounding muscles such as the Latisimus Dorsi, Supraspinatus, Upper Trapezius, Triceps, Biceps, Pectoralis etc we achieved awesome results without any pain.
Here are the range of motion results recorded at the first treatment..
- Right flex before 90 deg
- Right flex after 160deg
- Right abduction before 90deg
- Right abduction after 150deg
- Left flex before 90deg
- Left flex after 160deg
- Left abd before 85deg
- Left abd after 135deg
The client was extremely happy with the results. He had not had this sort of range of motion for a long period of time. It has given him renewed hope & a better quality of life.
Shoulder injuries can be caused from pulling a garage door, swinging a tennis racket, crunching a tackle, casting a line, a car accident, falling off a horse or whatever, Bowen Therapy can likely assist you too.
