I had the absolute pleasure & joy of doing some baby bowen on a 6-month-old baby girl just recently.
She was the sweetest little thing however hiding under that beautiful little smile & cute little hands that kept reaching out to hold me was some serious concerns.
She had a birth weight of 10.5 pounds, and Mum was of not of a big stature so yes there had been some complications during the birth including head trauma & shoulder trauma. Like many babies, she was also suffering from reflux/not being able to hold the food down for any period of time.
She also didn’t like to lie on her stomach for any period of time & would only sleep with her mum which was putting her mum under enormous stress.
Performing what we call Baby Bowen is quite different from normal Bowen and typically a session lasts for about 30 minutes. It is of course extremely gentle. For the greater part bubs enjoyed the treatment but it was interesting to note that the only times she got upset was when I was working on her sternum and diaphragm which directly coincides with the complaints about not wanting to lie on her stomach and the eating/reflux.
I have my professional opinions what might be happening however for legal reasons I will not diagnose here. The procedures I chose to use were to primarily address the head trauma, the oesophagus, sleeping issues, stomach and jaw.
